어느날 원숭이가 커다란 박스를 가져왔습니다. 케익은 박스 안에 무엇이 들어 있는지 궁금했어요.
원숭이가 말하기를 박스 안에는 마법의 고양이가 들어 있다고 하네요. 박스를 열면 사라져서 보이지 않지만, 박스를 닫으면 다시 그 안에 고양이가 나타난다고 합니다.

그렇다면 그 안에 정말로 고양이가 들어 있는지 어떻게 확인할 수 있을까요? 케익은 원숭이에게 박스를 열거나 닫거나 관계없이 그 안에는 고양이가 없을 거라고 말합니다. 그러자 원숭이는 케익에게 박스가 닫혀있을 때, 그 안에 무엇이 들어있는지를 상상하고 믿는 것은 네 자유라고 말해줍니다. 그러자 케익은 닫혀진 박스 안에는 마법의 공룡이 들어있을 것 같다고 말합니다. 물론 박스를 열면 그 공룡은 사라져서 보이지 않는다고 하네요.

열면 사라지는 고양이와 공룡. 결국 박스 안에 무엇이 들어 있는지를 증명할 수 없었던 원숭이와 케익은 말싸움은 그만하고 함께 파이를 먹으러 갑니다. 그런데 박스가 살짝 열리더니 그 안에서 나오는 것은...
