보름달이 뜬 밤에 울프보이는 배가 고파서 숲 속에서 나왔어요. 그리고 토끼를 잡아먹으려고 이곳저곳을 찾아 다녔어요. 개울도 건너고, 높은 떡갈나무에도 올라가고, 악어가 우글거리는 늪지대도 건너고, 깊은 협곡도 건넜어요. 하지만 토끼는 어디에도 없었어요. (사실은 토끼들은 울프보이 눈에만 띄지 않았을 뿐, 항상 주위에 있었지요. 각각의 페이지에서 숨은 그림 찾기를 하듯이 토끼들을 찾아보세요)

너무 배가 고파서 화가 난 울프보이는 펄쩍펄쩍 뛰고, 으르렁거리고, 발도 굴렀어요. 밝은 달빛 아래서 울프보이는 더욱 집중해서 두눈을 반짝이며 두리번 거렸어요. 그리고 마침내 토끼의 기다란 두 귀, 털로 덮여 있는 두발, 솜뭉치같은 꼬리를 보게 되었어요. 울프보이는 토끼를 향해 살금살금 기어갔어요. 그런데 토끼는 한마리가 아니었어요. 수많은 토끼들이 어둠 속에서 뛰어 나왔지요. 수많은 토끼들을 눈 앞에서 보게 된 울프보이는 만찬을 즐길 생각에 군침을 흘리면서 기뻐했지요. 그런데 토끼들은 배고픈 울프보이를 위해 뭔가를 준비했다고 하네요. 그것은 바로 달콤한 문베리 열매로 만든 맛있는 파이!

토끼들이 자신을 위해 만들어준 파이를 배부르게 먹은 울프보이는 너무 행복했어요. 그래서 토끼들을 잡아먹는 대신에 두팔로 꼭 껴안아 주네요...
