넛태처씨의 농장에 사는 닭들은 매일 똑같은 사료만 먹는 것이 질렸습니다. 그래서 넛태처씨 부인이 보고 있는 TV의 요리프로그램을 보고는 밭에서 토마토와 양파를 뽑아와서 살사 소스를 만들었습니다. 그리고 감자칩을 살사 소스에 찍어서 맛있게 먹었습니다. 그런데 감자칩은 어디서 난 걸까요?

넛태처씨의 연못에 사는 오리들도 매일같이 물고기만 잡아먹은 것에 실증이 났습니다. 닭들이 살사 소스를 만들어 먹은 것을 보고는, 오리들도 밭에 가서 고수와 마늘을 뽑아와서 과콰몰레를 만들어 먹었습니다. 그런데 과콰몰레를 만드는데 필수 재료인 아보카도는 어디서 난 걸까요?

살사와 과콰몰레의 참을 수 없는 냄새를 맡은 돼지들은 자신들도 매일 먹는 꿀꿀이죽 대신에 새로운 별미를 만들어 먹기로 했습니다. 넛태처씨의 밭에 몰래 들어가서 콩과 고추를 가져온 후, 나초를 만들어서 치즈 소스에 찍어 먹었습니다. 그런데 치즈는 어디서 난 걸까요?

이제 넛태처씨 농장에 사는 모든 동물들은 모두 새롭고 자극적이며 군침을 흘리게 만드는 멕시코 음식에 푹 빠졌습니다. 그래서 그날밤 모든 동물들은 헛간에 모여서 멕시코 음식 파티를 열기로 했습니다만, 음식 재료를 구하러 밭에 간 동물들은 깜짝 놀라고 말았습니다. 밭에서 자라던 모든 식재료들이 감쪽같이 사라져 버렸습니다. 넛태처 부부가 마을 축제에 가져갈 타말레를 만들기 위해 모두 가져간 겁니다.

하지만 수탉에게는 해결책이 있었네요. 프랑스 요리책에 적혀있는 "샴페인 소스와 백포도를 곁들인 크레페"를 만들어 먹기로 한 것이죠. 그런데 누가 수탉에게 프랑스 요리책을 읽는 법을 가르친 걸까요?
