첫 페이지를 넘기는 순간부터 어린이뿐만 아니라 어른들의 눈을 사로잡는 책입니다. 참을 수 없는 웃음과 함께...
어느날 작은 두더지가 땅 위로 고개를 쑥 내미는 순간 상상치 못한 일이 벌어집니다. 두더지 머리 위에 길쭉한 거시기... 음~ 똥이 떨어진 거예요. 화가 난 두더지는 증거 보전을 위해 머리 위에 똥을 그대로 얹고 씩씩거리며 똥을 싼 범인을 찾아 나섭니다. 만나는 동물마다 "네가 내 머리에 똥 쌌지?" 하고 물어보지만 그 때마다 동물들은 "나? 아니야. 내가 왜? 내 똥은 이렇게 생겼는 걸." 하면서 똥을 누어 보여 줍니다.
두더지는 비둘기, 말, 토끼, 염소, 소, 돼지를 만나서 내 머리 위에 똥 쌌냐고 묻지만 그들은 자기들 똥은 모양이 다르다는 것을 실물로 보여줍니다. 결국 범인은 엉뚱하게도... 마지막에 범인 머리 위에 똥을 싸서 복수하는 두더쥐 모습... 정말 재미있는 책입니다.

If the sticker doesn't tip you off, maybe the cover illustration of a mole sporting a dog turd on his head will clue you into the subject matter. The entire story revolves around the mole's quest to discover which animal has dropped the load. Each page reveals a different description of animal excrement until the exciting conclusion when mole uncovers the culprit and reciprocates by dropping a small package on the dog's head. I guess this book serves to tell children that they should do-do on others as others have do-doed on them.
About the Author
Werner Holzwarth has worked as an advertising manager and creative director in Germany and a journalist in Bolivia. He is now partner in his own advertising agency.
Wolf Erlbruch began working as an illustrator in 1974 and has since published numerous books for children. A professor at the University of Dusseldorf, he teaches illustration and design. |
