리암은 우편물을 받는 것을 좋아하는 소년입니다. 하지만 매일마다 수시로 우편함을 열어봐도 그에게 배달되는 우편물은 없었습니다. 그러던 어느날 리암은 좋은 생각이 떠올랐어요. 리암이 우편함에게 편지를 보내면, 우편함은 그에게 답장을 해줄 거라고 생각했지요.

그래서 리암은 "Dear Mailbox(친애하는 우편함에게)"로 시작하는 편지를 썼어요. 편지에는 무언가 커다란 것을 받고 싶다는 소망을 적었지요. 리암의 편지를 우편함에 넣자 우편함은 흔들리면서 이상한 소리를 내더니, 우편함을 여는 순간 입에서 불을 뿜는 용이 튀어 나왔어요.

리암은 이번에는 용도 좋지만, 무언가를 더 많은 것들을 보내달라고 썼어요. 편지를 우편함에 넣자 우편함이 흔들리더니, 우편함에서 피클, 의자, 달팽이, 왕관, 파인애플, 돼지, 고래, 트럼본, 트리세라톱스의 머리뼈 화석 등 다양한 것들이 쏟아져 나왔어요.

리암은 다시 한번 더 엄청나게 많은 것들을 보내달라는 편지에 썼고, 이번에도 우편함은 산더미같이 많은 물건들을 보내줬어요. 너무 많이 받아서, 리암은 이것들로 뭐를 해야할지 몰랐어요. 그러다 좋은 생각이 떠올랐어요. 이 세상에서 우편물을 받기를 원하는 아이가 자기만은 아닐거라고 생각했지요. 그래서 자기가 받은 것들을 다른 아이들에게 나눠주기를 원한다는 편지를 쓰고, 편지와 함께 물건들을 다시 우편함에 모두 넣었지요. 이제 수많은 아이들이 우편함을 여는 순간, 그토록 받기를 원했던 우편물들을 받게 되었습니다. 우편물을 받는 것도 즐겁지만 보내는 것도 커다란 행복이지요.
