음메~ 대신에 꿀꿀~ 돼지소리를 내는 소는 친구 소들은 물론이고 모든 동물들의 웃음거리입니다. 자신의 울음소리 때문에 외톨이가 된 소는 어느날 음메~하고 우는 돼지를 만났습니다. 이 돼지 역시 자신의 울음소리 때문에 친구돼지는 물론이고 다른 모든 동물들의 웃음거리였지요. 처지가 비슷한 소와 돼지는 친구가 되고, 소는 돼지가 꿀꿀 소리를 낼 수 있도록 가르쳐 주기로 합니다. 소는 열심히 꿀꿀소리를 따라하라고 가르칩니다만, 음메 소리밖에 낼 줄 모르는 돼지에게는 쉬운일이 아니네요. 하지만 열심히 소가 내는 꿀꿀 소리를 따라하다보니, 결국은 다른 돼지와 마찬가지로 꿀꿀 소리를 낼 수 있게 되었습니다. 이번에는 돼지가 소에게 음메 소리를 가르쳐주고... 결국 그 소와 돼지는 2가지 소리를 낼 수 있는 시대를 앞서가는(?) 동물이 됩니다. 오로지 한가지 소리밖에 낼 수 없는 다른 동물들은 전에는 그 소와 돼지를 비웃었지만, 이제는 2가지 울음소리를 내는 소와 돼지의 놀림감이 되었네요...
영어를 공부하는 어린 아이들에게 왜 외국어를 공부해야 하는지를 깨닫게 해주는 내용이네요^^
