Tria is upset when Cera loses her shiny stone. So Cera and her friends set off to look for another one and find unexpected adventure along the way.
Children's Literature
Based on the television show, the characters (dinosaurs) are introduced on the first page - Cera, Tria her stepmother, Petrie a flying reptile, and Littlefoot. Cera is upset because she has accidentally lost a beautiful stone that Tria put on a pile of stones. When Tria is upset about the loss, Cera goes away feeling like her stepmother likes the stone more than her. Then the adventure begins to try and find a replacement stone. It means that Cera and her friends end up at Smoking Mountain and get themselves into a bit of trouble. Petrie has to overcome his fears to bring back the adults to rescue the stranded children and all ends well. Several lessons are learned - Cera now knows that her stepmother truly cares about her and Petrie has once again taken to the skies. A level 2 reader in the "I Can Read!" series.
