Book Description
Shape up babies' early-learning skills the fun and easy way with Playshapes--the nifty novelty learn-and-play set that helps build shape recognition skills and strengthen eye-hand coordination. Each Playshapes package contains a sturdy child-sized board book and four colorful plastic blocks that fit perfectly into the die-cut holes on each brightly illustrated storybook page. Parents read aloud while baby plays along--beaming with smiles of accomplishment as a red rectangle, a blue square, a green circle and an orange triangle fit into the storyright where they belong!
Ingram
An interactive concept book exposes babies and preschoolers to different shapes, using colorful plastic blocks that fit into die-cut holes on the pages of a sturdy board book to enhance recognition and eye-hand coordination skills.
Children's Literature
Four plastic shapes that fit into die cut holes accompany this board book. The triangle becomes the top of a cake and the roof of a house. Along with statements about the objects, kids are asked to identify the shape-they are color coded and identified on the back cover. The suggested age range by the publisher is 1 to 3, which seems too young for this type of activity. It requires both manual dexterity and the ability to discriminate the shape of the die cutout within the image on the page. It is probably better targeted to 2 and 3 year-olds |
