목욕하기를 싫어하는 점박이 흰색 강아지 해리가 어느날 욕조에서 물소리가 들리자 목욕솔을 물고 집 밖으로 도망을 갑니다. 목욕솔을 마당에 묻어 버리고 공사장, 철길, 석탄작업장 등을 돌아다닌 해리는 검은 점이 있는 흰색 강아지가 아니라 군데군데 흰점이 있는 검은 강아지로 바뀌었지요. 신나게 놀다가 집으로 돌아온 해리... 그러나 가족중 누구도 그를 해리로 알아보지 못합니다. 해리의 특기인 두발로 걷기, 죽은 척하기 등 묘기를 부려도 가족들은 그를 해리로 생각하지 않았지요. 낙담해서 문밖으로 나가려던 해리는 갑자기 좋은 꾀가 생각이 났지요...
