Preschool^-Gr. 1. A lively sports backdrop will draw children to this story in which one member of a multicultural class of youngsters (including a child in a wheelchair) finally finds a sport he's good at. Betsy Lewin's artwork is colorful but sometimes so vigorous it overwhelms the text, and although the greatly enlarged type will help make reading easy, it doesn't do much to balance the design.
