Book Description
Rogue is a mutant with special powers, but she finds others like herself at the School for Gifted Youngsters. Will she stay with the X-Men or try to make it on her own?
Children's Literature
Rogue is feared by friends and family. It really is no surprise, because when she touches someone she pulls their abilities and life force into herself. She almost unknowingly killed a friend. Rogue runs away from home and school and encounters Wolverine, who it turns out is also a mutant. As they join forces, they meet other mutants and finally they end up at the special school for gifted youngsters. Rogue has found a home, but she almost did in her friend Wolverine. Fortunately she does find one friend, Bobby. Then she learns there may be a way for a mutant to become a normal human. The book ends with out knowing what her decision will be—so I guess kids will have to see the movie. All the characters are drawn in cartoon style, and they look to be young adults. A level 2 book in the "I Can Read" series. |
