가난해서, 혼자 독학(self-education)으로 대학자가 되었다고 합니다.
'보우디치'를 아끼는 분이 뉴턴의 책을 빌려줬는데, 읽지를 못해요.
이유를 물어보니, "저 라틴어 못읽는데요..."
그당시 유명한 책은 라틴어로 되어있었다네요. 우리랑 비슷하죠, 우린 영어로 되어있어서....
'보우디치'가 라틴어를 깨치는 방법은, 성경책 읽기.
영어성경과 라틴어성경을 비교독해해요.
이런방법으로 프랑스어, 스페인어도 독학합니다.
책 상태도 좋고, 종이질도 좋은 편이에요. 그림도 한 챕터에 1~2 씩 나오네요.

책표지의 그림이 넘 마음에 들더군요.
뭐 글밥이 많다고 해도 설마 그림이 없으리라는 생각은 못했구요.
상받은 책이라고 해서 내용도 좋을 것이라 생각해서 아이와 같이 읽으려고 샀는데,
세상에 글만 있고 그림..

백방 아이는 읽으려 하지 않으려 하겠죠/
그냥 포기하고 제가 읽어보려구요.
그리고 나중에 두었다가 아이가 읽을수 있을때 그때 다시 한번 도전하게 해야 겠어요
