This first book of shapes for young children enchants from its first page to the last. There are pop-ups, pull-ups, rotating wheels, peek-ins, textured shapes and those wonderful wow moments that make certain books irresistible. On the first page of circles, for instance, the round face of the clock has its two hands for a nose. Outside of a square on the next page a red bird sits on a branch on the other side of a clear plastic "window." The tent on the triangle page opens up so the reader can peek inside and a fish on the oval page can be pulled out of a field of seaweed. On the heart page, open the door of the control panel of the robot and a big red heart is part of the plumbing.
