페이지를 넘길 때마다 배를 따르는 물고기가 하나 둘씩 늘어나는 모습을 보는 것도 재미있으며, 특히 서로 떨어져 있는 노란색 열대어가 마지막에 서로 만나는 장면도 이 책에서 즐길 수 있는 또다른 재미입니다.

A board-book edition of Lear's classic poem lushly illustrated with Jan Brett's paintings is ill-suited to the board-book format. Rich details are lost because the art has been greatly reduced and a child who can listen to the whole text is likely old enough to look at a standard edition.

Edward Lear's nonsense poem about two unlikely sweethearts--an elegant owl and a beautiful cat--has found a perfect match in artist Jan Brett. She traveled to the Caribbean (the land where the Bong-tree grows, perhaps?) to research her illustrations as well as the settings, costume details, plants, and fish native to the area. Readers can follow an illustrated subplot of two yellow fish who also fall in love under the pea-green boat. A charming treatment of a classic children's poem.
