엄마와 아빠가 여행을 가면서 아이는 할머니집에 하루동안 맡겨졌어요. 하지만 아이는 자신이 할머니를 돌봐줘야 하는 걸로 생각하네요.

아이는 할머니를 돌보면서 할머니를 즐겁게 해줄 수 있는 많은 방법이 있다고 하네요.

제일 먼저 한 일은 공원에 가기. 공원에서 할머니와 함께 미끄럼틀과 그네도 타고 연못에 있는 오리에게 먹이도 줬어요.

집에 돌아 와서는 음악을 틀어놓고 같이 춤을 추고, 신발가게 놀이도 하고, 옷 꾸며입기 놀이도 했어요.

저녁 식사시간에는 할머니에게 음식을 좀더 맛있게 먹는 법을 알려주고, 식사 후에는 정원에 나가 할머니가 샛별을 찾을 수 있도록 도와줬어요.

잠자기 전에는 책을 함께 읽고, 엄마의 어릴 적 숨겨진 이야기들을 들려달라고 했어요. 그리고 할머니에게 "I-LOVE-YOU"를 소리내지 않고 동작만으로 어떻게 표현하는지를 가르쳐 줬어요.

침대에 함께 누워서는 손가락으로 그림자 놀이도 하고, 할머니에게 딸(아이의 엄마)이 보고 싶겠지만 내일이면 돌아오니까 참으라고 위로해 줬어요.

그리고 다음날 아침, 엄마와 아빠가 아이를 데려가기 위해 왔을 때는 할머니에게 사랑스러운 특별한 이별을 하네요...
