환상적인 겨울의 풍경, 호두까기 인형 공연 장면, 산타의 작업실, 아늑한 할머니의 부엌, 크리스마스상품 판매 가게의 대형 유리창, 성당, 인형의 집, 장난감 기차 레일, 새해 전야의 모습 등의 장면이 나오는데 구성하고 있는 사물들을 들여다 보면 우리가 일상생활에서 항상 보거나 사용하는 소품들로 구성되어 있습니다. 어떤 소품들이 사용되었는지는 책 뒤에 자세히 소개되어 있어 아이와 함께 I Spy 놀이와 같이 사진속에 숨겨진 사물들을 찾는 놀이를 하도록 되어 있습니다.
겨울 장면에 나오는 불이 환히 켜져 있는 집의 지붕은 수첩, 굴뚝은 분홍색 지우개, 문은 알파벳 블럭, 발코니는 머리빗이며 옆집의 굴뚝은 강아지 비스켓입니다. 9개의 장면 모두 어떤 소품들로 이루어져 있는지 하나씩 찾다보면 정말 기발하고 감탄이 절로 나오게 하는 책입니다.

Three-dimensional artist Joan Steiner has created miniature tableaux that beg to be looked at and talked about during the holidays. For instance, there's grandma in her kitchen baking up a bunch of biscuits on her old woodstove. But wait, the stove is an antique black letterbox on its side, the pots are empty aluminum candle inserts, her apron is a dollar bill and is that the Farmer's Almanac forming the front of the cupboard? Other scenes include a cross-section of a doll house, Santa's workshop, the Nutcracker, and New Year's Eve. There's less to look at here than in Jean Marzallo's "I Spy" series, but the book includes extras the "I Spy" series doesn't, such as three baking ideas to make "look-alikes," an interview and peek behind the scenes at how the author does it, and a list of the items used to make each scene. Somewhat inanely, the author suggests children count the objects used to make the look-alikes, with three rules for counting that is sure to frustrate even as it attempts to clarify.  워낙 서평이 좋아 구입한 책이지만.... |
다른 벼룩책에 비해 가격도 좀 쌘 편이고, cd가 포함된 것도 아니고 해서 좀 망설였지만,
워낙 서평이 좋아서 구입한 책입니다.
처음 그냥 책을 펼쳐 봤을 땐, 이게 뭐야,, 이게 다야? 했는데, 찬찬히 보면 볼수록..
다른 벼룩책에 비해 가격도 좀 쌘 편이고, cd가 포함된 것도 아니고 해서 좀 망설였지만,
워낙 서평이 좋아서 구입한 책입니다.
처음 그냥 책을 펼쳐 봤을 땐, 이게 뭐야,, 이게 다야? 했는데, 찬찬히 보면 볼수록
이걸 어떻게 만들어서 사진을 찍었을까 감탄의 연발이었죠.
하지만, 전체적인 사진은 몇 페이지 안되고, 뒷부분엔 설명이 영어로 쫘~악 있어서 아이들한테는
그다지 크게 활용될 것 같진 않네요.
영어를 배운다는 것보다, 사진에 물건 찾기? 정도...
참 예쁜 책이지만, 가격 대비 추천은.. 글쎄요.....
처음 이 사이트를 알게 되어 몇 권 사게 되었는데, 전반적으로 일반 온라인 서점에서 살 때보다 가격면에서는 정말 훌륭하고, 또 b급이라고 해서 좀 걱정했지만, 걱정할 정도가 아닌 거의 새것이라 대부분 만족을 했습니다. cd나 tape가 포함되어 있는 제품도 저렴히 많이 올려주셨으면 좋겠습니다. 사실 책만 가지고 활용하는 것보다는 cd나 tape를 들려주면서 해야 효과가 배가 되잖아요. ^^

I spy보다 더 감탄사가 쏟아져 나오는 책입니다..보고 있으면 빠져드는 책이네요.
친구집서 아이랑 보다가 우와..했던 책이네요.^^ 서점서 아주 비싸게 주고 산 책인데,
온가족이 매달려서 게임하듯 찾고,찾으면서..
I spy보다 더 감탄사가 쏟아져 나오는 책입니다..보고 있으면 빠져드는 책이네요.
친구집서 아이랑 보다가 우와..했던 책이네요.^^ 서점서 아주 비싸게 주고 산 책인데,
온가족이 매달려서 게임하듯 찾고,찾으면서도 황홀했던 책입니다.^^
성탄절도 이제 한두달?채 안남았네요..벼룩에 있을때 선물용으로 구입하심 좋을듯..^^

수록되어 있어 더욱 의미가 깊네요^^
