Part of the "easy-open" series, the flexible binding allows the board pages to open easily and to almost lay flat. The pages are a little different in size when the book is opened so it is easier to pick out one and open it. This particular concept book teaches kids about numbers, and it uses the natural world to do it. Two long necked giraffes peer out against a bright blue sky, while five ladybugs cover a leaf, and eight frogs are fairly well camouflaged against the pads and pebbles in their pond. Young children and caregivers should enjoy looking at the pictures and counting up to ten. The animals come from different parts of the world and very different climates. That too can lead to further discussion. |
