변변한 테니스코트조차 없는 미국 캘리포니아의 우범지역 빈민가인 콤프톤에서 태어나고 자란 윌리엄스자매는 세레나는 3살, 비너스는 4살때부터 테니스를 치는 법도 몰랐던 아버지의 지도하에 아스팔트 도로 위에서 테니스를 배우기 시작했습니다.
