Finally, Pal meets Sal, a pony that Kate rides. Pal and Sal become friends just as Billy and Kate are. This book is well suited to beginning readers, with its vocabulary of simple, often-repeated words and a few more complex words. The illustrations, with their lifelike colors and drawings, show familiar scenes of ponies and school and support the beginning young reader in preschool and grade 1. |
