A Very Special House와 The Happy Day 등 Caldecott 수상작들과 The Carrot Seed, The Happy Egg, A Hole Is to Dig 등 수많은 명작 어린이 그림책의 작가인 Ruth Krauss가 글을 쓰고, Time for Bed, Animal Crackers, Talking Like the Rain 등 다수의 베스트셀러 그림책들의 Illustrator인 Jane Dyer가 그림을 그린 아름다운 책입니다.
아기가 잠을 자기 전에 가지고 놀던 인형들에게 인사를 하네요. 양 인형에게는 눈에게 작별을, 곰돌이 인형에게는 코에게 작별을, 아기 인형에게는 손가락에게 작별을, 공룡 인형에게는 발가락에게 작별을, 물고기 인형에게는 입술에게 작별을, 사자 인형에게는 갈기털에게 작별을 하고, 모든 인형을 잠자리에 누인 다음에 모두에게 Goodnight 인사를 합니다.

Dyer illustrates a text that was originally published as Eyes Nose Fingers Toes (Harper & Row, 1964; o.p.). Gentle rhymes tell the story of a toddler saying good night to her surroundings, her stuffed animals, and her mother. She snuggles her lamb, touches noses with her bear, and compares toes with her dinosaur. The simple spreads on which the baby bids good night to her toys are awash with soothing pastel watercolor backgrounds. While the stuffed animals are endearing, the child and her mother are not as appealing; they have old-fashioned, doll-like, and expressionless round faces delineated by a few simple lines and tiny rosebud mouths. The few pages where there is more color, detail, pattern, and activity work the best.

Krauss's blatant variation on Goodnight Moon, originally published as Eyes, Nose, Fingers, Toes (1964) with illustrations by Elizabeth Schneider, gets an intimate remake thanks to Dyer's gentle sleepy-time scenes of a chubby, rosebud-lipped toddler surrounded by plush companions-each of which (child included) gets put to bed to a rhythmic litany: "Goodnight windows / Goodnight doors / Goodnight walls / Goodnight floors." A dinosaur toy provides the only bit of updating here; otherwise the art is as time-unspecific as the text. Dyer's illustrations are typically in an oversized format, each double-paged spread on 10 x 10 pages, a different pastel background on each, allowing the full effect of her soft colors to envelope the reader. Often the plush animal takes up the entire two pages. Then, when she gets to the walls, windows, and doors, she reverts to one page for each, setting the scene against stark white backgrounds, and coming back to the pastel for the closing shot of mother and child. Short, sweet-and comfortably familiar. |

머리카락을 한손으로 잡고 다른 손으로 굿나잇 인사를 하죠...
eye, lip, ear ,wall, window...
자기전에 자기와 엄마와 방안에 모든 사물에 인사를 마치면
그때서야 잠이 듭니다..
갓난아기부터 쉽게 읽어줄수 있는 책이라 생각해요..
엄마와 아기가 교감할 수 있는 책인거 같아요...

 너무 예쁜 잠자리책 |
잠자리책이 몇개 있는데...
이 책 만큼 우리 아가와 똑같은 책이 없어요..
저희 19개월 아기도 잠들기전에 전등,벽,거울,옷장,아빠와 모두 굿나잇 인사를 해야 잠자리에 눕거든요..
잠들기전엔 엄마의 눈,..
잠자리책이 몇개 있는데...
이 책 만큼 우리 아가와 똑같은 책이 없어요..

잠들기전엔 엄마의 눈,코,입,귀도 다 짚어주고 이름 불러주어야 눈을 감습니다.
이 책 이야기와 너무 잘 맞죠..
그림도 너무 예쁩니다.(소녀취향? 순정만화?)
보드북치고는 적당히 큽니다....
신체부위도 배울수 있고요...잠자리책으로 추천합니다.

 아까운 책~ |
그림이 넘 이뻐서 벼룩에서 구입했는데 책이 파본이네요~ 그래서 안타깝게도 반품햇네요~
잠잘시간에 읽어주면 아이들이 넘 좋아할 만한 부드러운 그림들로 가득차 있네요~
그림자체가 부드러워 잠이 절로 올것같..
