The work never seems to end on a farm. Maisy drives the tractor in the fields, feeds the chickens and feeds the pigs. At least the sheep are on their own¾they can munch on the grass. The cow, however, does need to be milked and all of this activity takes place before Maisy eats her own breakfast. Whew, morning sure is a busy time on Maisy's farm. In Morning on the Farm, Maisy milks the cow, "Squish squish, squirt squirt"; feeds the pigs and chickens; and then has her own breakfast. Cousins's lovable pink-whiskered mouse returns in a charming, bucolic tale. Maisy greets the day diligently doing her morning chores around the barnyard. Preschoolers get a glimpse of a farmer's life as Maisy bustles about tending to her animals. As always, the topic, while simply presented, piques a preschooler's interest. Readers discover that farm animals want their breakfast too-chickens gobble up corn, sheep graze in the grass, pigs eat at their trough, and even the cows are milked before Maisy settles down to her own repast. The brief tale works well for both ends of the pre-k spectrum: toddlers will delight in recognizing familiar farm animals while older readers will be fascinated by the origins of the milk in their cereal bowls. Vividly colored, full-page illustrations accompany the text. The zippy pictures feature brilliant background hues in neon orange fire-engine red, as well as Cousins's familiar chunky figures. A surefire pleaser for the many fans of the popular TV show and book series. (Picture book. 2-5)

Ages 2-4. Maisy, the friendly little rodent now seen on TV, stars in two little stories. Kids will these enjoy the simple, though slight tales and the brilliantly colored illustrations. In Doctor, Maisy dons a white coat and ministers to Panda with stethoscope and thermometer. Morning shows Maisy at work on the farm: driving a tractor; feeding the chickens, pigs, and sheep; and milking the cow. According to copyright information, the books are based on a Maisy audio-visual series, and the gouache paintings are "illustrated in the style of Lucy Cousins." The derivation of books won't matter to little ones, though. They'll simply enjoy revisiting an old friend. Carolyn Phelan |

메이지의 플레이하우스밖에 없었는데,
하프를 들락날락 거리게 되면서 메이지 책도 꽤 사게 되네요

 정말 괜찮아요! |
메이지.. 어린 영유아들한테 인기가 많죠? 저희 집 아이도 예외는 아닙니다. ^^
처음에는 Where is Maisy's Panda? 류의 a-lift-the-flap book(들춰보기책)을 구입했었고,
다음엔 Maisy goes swimming 같은 P..

처음에는 Where is Maisy's Panda? 류의 a-lift-the-flap book(들춰보기책)을 구입했었고,
다음엔 Maisy goes swimming 같은 Pull the tab 책을 구입했어요.
이런 들춰보기나 작동책도 아이가 관심을 많이 보이는데, 흥미유발에는 좋지만 아무래도 문장이 좀 간단하거든요.
그런데 별 기대하지 않고 산 스토리북... 너무 맘에 드는 거 있죠?
저렴한 가격에 문장도 쉬우면서 알아두면 좋을 것 같고요 ^^
무엇보다 아이가 너무 잘 봐요! 주말에 하프에서 메이지 스토리북을 5-6권 더 주문했답니다. ^^
아이들에게 친근한 닭, 소, 돼지, 양, 고양이가 나와요.

제가 메이질 좋아합니다..
31개월여아맘인데요..메이지책이 상당히 좋아요..
맥스앤루비책도 같이 업어왔지만..지금 수준엔 메이지가 젤로 좋은듯싶기도하구요..
울딸은 farm이란 단어인지를 못해서..잘 파악을 ..
