Book Description
What do you mean girls can't play flag football? Mr. Mac the coach knows differently as he divides the kids into two teams. Alyssa lost her flag and J.B. was ready to point out that this game was not for girls. Tess did not care for his remarks and was able to show that she had what it takes as only she and J.B. are left on the field. She outmaneuvered him and scored a touchdown. Everyone cheered except J.B. Tess is magnanimous and tells J.B that he can be on her team anytime. The illustrations have a cartoon look to them and fit the simple story perfectly. The message comes across pretty clearly and young readers should be able to understand that boys and girls are equal. On the inside cover there are brief blurbs about the author and illustrator. A Level 1 book in the "Ready-to-Read" series which is designed for kids starting to read. |
