It may or may not be spring cleaning time, but Mama has decided that they have too much stuff and that it is time for a yard sale. The closets are overflowing and so is the garage. And if that is not enough there is a basement and an attic also full of "stuff." Little Critter cleaned out his whole closet finding lots of things to sell while his sister only had one of her old dolls. The created signs and posted them. The big event arrives and Little Critter is thrilled because he sold a bunch of broken toys for , but Little sister sold her doll for But who made the most—Mom who sold her chocolate chip cookies made the most money. It is amusing and the illustrations are full of things that one might see at a neighborhood yard sale. The story just confirms that one person's junk is another person's treasure. The illustrations are typical Mayer and he manages to show the spirited rivalry between Sister and Brother but a real family working together to pull off a successful event. |
