Michael, Dont Do That!, The Boy Who Cried Wolf를 비롯해서 수많은 인기작품의 저자인 Tony Ross의 코믹하면서도 교훈이 있는 Little Princess 시리즈입니다. 이 책은 국내에서 "엄마, 엄마, 엄마!"라는 제목으로 번역서가 출간되었습니다.
공주는 친구들을 초대해서 멋진 파티를 열고 싶었습니다. 많은 초대장도 손수 쓰고, 맛있는 케익과 젤리도 요리사와 함께 만들고, 수상의 도움을 받아 파티모자도 만들고, 장군에게는 파티 놀이를 하는 법도 배웠습니다. 아빠 왕은 풍선을 불어주고, 엄마 왕비는 파티장을 예쁘게 장식해 줬지요. 그런데 공주가 초대장을 보내는 것을 깜빡 잊어버리는 바람에 파티가 열리는 날, 아무리 기다려도 아무도 나타나지 않았습니다.
공주가 낙담하고 있을 때, 성문 밖에 공주의 절친이 찾아와서 공주에게 자기 파티에 와달라고 초대장을 건네 주네요. 공주는 친구를 성 안으로 들어오게 해서 둘만의 신나는 파티를 엽니다. 비록 손님은 한명뿐이지만 가장 친한 친구와 함께 한 가장 즐거운 파티였습니다. 물론 친구가 다음주에 열 파티도 신나는 파티가 되겠지요...
