원과 사각형은 가장 친한 친구사이입니다. 사긱형은 자기 모습을 닮은 책을 읽는 것을 좋아하고, 원은 공과 같이 여기저기 통통 튀어오르기를 좋아하는 등 서로의 취향은 달랐지만, 서로의 장점을 인정해 주고 부러워하는 사이좋은 친구였지요.
어느날 이 둘 사이에 삼각형이 들어오게 됩니다. 삼각형은 기발하고 재주도 많았기 때문에, 사각형과 원은 삼각형과 서로 친해지고 싶어했습니다. 삼각형을 사이에 두고 원과 사각형이 경쟁을 하다보니, 이 셋은 묘한 삼각관계가 되었지요. 결국 삼각형을 차지하려고 경쟁하다보니, 사각형과 원은 점점 사이가 멀어지게 되었지요.
삼각형은 원과 사각형을 화해시키고 예전의 친구 사이로 돌려 놓기 위해 둘을 자기 집으로 초대했습니다. 하지만 삼각형을 사이에 두고 서로 차지하려고 삼각형의 팔을 양쪽에서 잡아당기는 바람에 삼각형은 길게 늘어나다가 그만 기다란 선이 되어버리고 말았습니다.
선이 된 삼각형을 예전 모습을 되돌리기 위한 방법을 연구하다가 원과 사각형은 힘을 합치기로 하고....
