Medal, Prayer for a Child--here in a satisfactorily produced board-book edition--is somewhat dated by some of the illustrations (hairstyles, stereotyped ethnic costumes), but thanks to the simplicity and lack of sentimentality in both prayer and accompanying artwork, it still works.
