[ 책 소개 ]
아서는 친구인 버스터, 브라이언과 함께 뒷 마당에 텐트를 치고 함께 잠을 자기로 했어요. 하지만 심술장이인 아서의 동생 D.W.는 밤에 외계인이 나타날지도 모른다고 하면서 겁을 줍니다. 밤이 되자 아서와 친구들은 텐트속에서 신나게 떠들면서 즐거운 시간을 보냅니다. 그런데 갑자기 환한 불빛이 텐트 위로 비추는 세명의 개구장이들은 이 불빛이 외계인의 우주선에서 나오는 빛으로 생각하고는 겁을 먹지요. 하지만 이 불빛은 2층에서 D.W.가 Flash로 비춘 것이죠. 아서는 외계인 모양의 그림을 그려서 D.W.를 놀려줌으로써 되갚음을 합니다.
문장과 그림이 매우 유머러스한 책입니다. 미국 어린이들의 생활 모습과 사고방식을 엿볼 수 있습니다.

표지가 두꺼운 판지나 보드지가 아닌 비교적 얇은 종이를 사용해서 만든 책이며, 실박음질 대신에 풀로 제본처리하는 경우가 많습니다. 일반적으로 하드커버나 보드북에 비해서 가격이 저렴합니다. 소프트커버로 불리우기도 합니다. 책의 이음새 부분이 접히거나 휘는 내구성이 그리 좋지는 않은 책입니다.

Arthur's twentieth adventure is not as tightly plotted as some of the previous stories, but its charm lies in how it mirrors life. Arthur and his friends Butch and Brian are having a rambunctious sleepover in the backyard. Arthur's sister, D. W., suggests there may be some space aliens in the neighborhood and, with flashing lights, manages to scare the boys into thinking the aliens have landed. Not to be outdone, the boys draw their own space monster, giving D. W. a fright. At this point, the Arthur books are a known (and beloved) quantity. The art is energetic, and the story is fun.
