지도의 종류를 살펴 본 후
지도 읽는 법(How to read Maps and Globes)을 알려 주네요.
Maps and Globes
바빌론에선 진흙(clay tablets)으로, 중국에선 실크(silk clothe)로 만들었는데, 그 지역 산물(local materials ; desert, clothe)로 만들었다는 점에 촛점 맞췄네요.
폴리네시안인들은 나뭇가지(reeds and palm leaves)와 조개껍데기(seashell)로 지도(stick chart maps)를 엮었는데요, 해류와 파도방향(the ocean's currents and wave directions)까지 표현한다고 합니다.
지도 관련 용어 익혔네요.
