MathStart 시리즈는 어린 아이들이 일상생활 속에서의 사례를 이용해 수학의 기본 개념을 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 구성되어 있습니다. 재미있는 Story와 그림을 통해 영어와 수학의 두마리 토끼를 함께 잡을 수 있습니다. 가족들이 모두 외출을 하고 집 안에 아무도 없게 되자, 고양이 헥터는 햄스터들을 겁을 줍니다. 햄스터들은 고양이에게 재미있는 스턴트 묘기를 보여주겠다고 제안합니다. 고양이가 승락을 하자 햄스터들은 분도기를 이용해서 자동차 점프대를 만든 후, 장난감 자동차를 타고 점프대로 몰고 가서 하늘로 날아 오릅니다. 처음에는 35도 각도로 점프대를 만들어서 날아 올랐습니다만, 헥터는 기대에 미치지 못한다고 트집을 잡는 바람에 다음에는 45도, 또 그 다음에는 60도로 점점 점프대의 각도를 높여서 날아 올랐지요. 그래도 헥터는 더 각도를 높일 것을 요구하자, 90도를 지나서 180도로 점프대를 만들었지요. 하지만 180도는 평평한 각도여서 햄스터들은 재빨리 차를 몰고 점프대를 지나 도망을 가고... 이 책에서는 기하학의 가장 기본적인 개념인 각도에 대해 배울 수 있습니다.
