직육면체 블록 모양으로 만들어진 Abrams 출판사의 Block Book 시리즈는 2013년에 알파벳에 관한 Alpha Block을 처음 출간한 이래 독자들의 격찬을 받으면서, 2019년에 농촌생활을 담은 Farm Block까지 총 8종이 출간되었습니다.
이 책은 자칫 지루할 수 있는 Counting Book을 어린 아이들이 흥미를 느끼면서 1부터 100까지 숫자 세기를 재미있게 배울 수 있도록 구성된 책입니다. 각각의 페이지들은 숫자 모양대로 재단이 되어 있어서, 어린 아이들이 책에 대한 흥미를 갖고 재미있게 즐길 수 있도록 구성되었습니다.
단순히 사물을 갯수를 세거나 숫자만 나열한 것이 아니라 Before와 After로 Guessing Game을 할 수 있도록 구성되어 있어서 아이들이 흥미를 갖고 숫자들을 재미있게 배울 수 있습니다.
예를 들면 1개의 도토리는, 페이지를 넘기면 커다란 1그루의 상수리 나무로 변해있고,
2개의 눈사람은 페이지를 넘기면 2개의 물웅덩이로 변하고,
6개의 털뭉치는 페이지를 넘기면 6개의 스웨터로 변하고,
