[ 책 소개 ]
P.J. Funnybunny는 자신이 토끼인 것이 너무나도 싫었습니다. 매일 먹은 당근요리도 질렸고, 집 안에 수많은 형제 자매들이 복작대는 것도 싫었으며, 기다란 귀도 싫었습니다. 퍼니바니는 다른 동물이 되어서 새로운 삶을 살아보고 싶어서 가출을 했습니다.
처음 만나서 함께 살게 된 동물은 곰. 그런데 겨울 내내 곰들은 잠을 자는데, 퍼니바니는 도저히 그렇게 오래 잠을 잘 수 없었지요.
두번째 만나서 함께 살게 된 동물은 새. 그런데 자신도 새들과 함께 날려고 하다가 나무에서 떨어져 버렸어요.
세번째 만나서 함께 살게 된 동물은 비버. 그런데 비버는 개울을 가로 막는 댐을 만든다고 하루 종일 쉬지 않고 일만 하네요.
네번쩨 만나서 함께 살게 된 동물은 주머니쥐. 그런데 나무가지에 꼬리를 감고 거꾸로 매달려자는 주머니쥐를 따라 하려다가 두통이 와버렸지요.
여러 동물들과 함께 살아본 퍼니버니는 가장 편안하고 행복한 곳은 자신의 집이라는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다. 집으로 돌아 온 퍼니버니는 당근 요리도 너무 맛있고, 형제 자매들과 복작거리며 노는 것도 너무 재미있으며, 자신을 토끼답게 보이게 하는 기다란 귀에도 자부심을 갖게 되었습니다.
자신의 정체성을 올바로 깨닫고, 자신과 자신에 속한 것들을 소중하게 여기는 것이 얼마나 중요한지를 깨닫게 해주는 내용입니다.
