한가로운 시골 농장의 닭인 로지는 산책을 나섭니다. 그런데 로지의 뒤에 누군가 발소리를 죽이며 살금살금 뒤따라가고 있습니다. 바로 너무나 배가 고파 로지를 잡아먹으려는 여우입니다. 그러나 로지는 그런 사실을 전혀 눈치채지 못하고 오히려 여유 만만, 우아하게 산책을 즐깁니다. 로지를 잡아먹으려 여우는 호시탐탐 기회를 엿보지만 매번 뾰족한 쇠스랑에 찔리고, 늪에 빠지고, 건초더미에 깔리고, 밀가루를 뒤집어쓰는 등 수난을 당하게 되고, 결국 벌집을 건드려 멀리 도망치고 맙니다. 이러한 위험에도 전혀 아랑곳하지 않고 로지는 산책을 마치고 저녁식사 시간에 맞춰 집으로 무사히 돌아갑니다.
