Book Description
Violet, a very curious young mouse, invites babies and toddlers into her home to explore, room by room, her favorite things. From touching Violet's fluffy poodle to joining her as she puts sticky toothpaste on her brush, children will want to visit Violet's House time and time again.
Children's Literature
Labeled a "Baby Einstein" book by the publisher, a very young child would have to be wise and strong to haul around this 10" by 111/2" touch-and-feel book. Inside are five spreads of the interior of the house belonging to Violet the mouse. At least three, and sometimes four, cut-out shapes on each of the spreads have materials of assorted textures fixed inside. Four rhyming couplets appear on each spread to indicate which images have been enhanced with smooth, woven, fluffy, shiny, bumpy, lumpy, quilted or sticky materials. On the back cover are aids for parents to guide children through such educational experiences as increasing vocabulary, developing a sense of touch, and taking a tour of their own houses to locate all the textures and surfaces to be discovered.
