From Publishers Weekly
Flapdoodle Dinosaurs by David A. Carter is just plain fun. Heavy black text stands out against the slick white background: "Who's inside the loaf of bread?" it asks. Children flip the plump loaf on the opposite page to find the vibrant "Tyrannosaurus Red" who has taken up residence. "Triceratops Pink" lives inside a pickle jar of "Grandma Gill's Pickled Dills." The entire dino line-up pops up on the final spread.

From School Library Journal
Despite some truly lame rhyming-"It's Spinosaurus Purple/(His friends just call him Murple.)/His favorite drink is a Melon Slurple-"-children will find this slim gallery of pop-eyed, Popsicle-colored dinos irresistible for its large-scale, pop-up effects. Lurking behind such unlikely items as a loaf of bread, an old-style radio, and a jar of pickles, the six creatures seem to explode off the page with each lift of the flap. Two even feature moving parts, so that Diplodocus Blue's babies jump from behind a bush, and, thanks to a pull-tab, Stegosaurus Yellow can wag its pointy tail. Taking an exuberant bow at the end, all leap out from the spectacular final spread to bid viewers good night. As bedtime reading this is far more likely to bring roars than snores, but the effects work smoothly, and the constructions are relatively sturdy for their size.

Book Description
A colorful pop-up dinosaur lurks behind each large lift-the-flap. Open them if you dare and meet six delightful dinosaurs! And what could be better than rhyming dinosaur verse written in flapdoodle? (That means nonsense!) From Tyrannosaurus Red to Velociraptor Green, this new pop-up by best-selling David A. Carter is a must-have for young dino fans.
