공원에서 사이좋게 사는 코알라 곰들이 어느날 언쟁을 벌이기 시작했어요. 말싸움은 점점 심해 졌으며 목소리가 점점 커졌지요. 나무 꼭대기에 사는 현명한 코알라곰은 싸움을 그치게 해야 겠다고 생각했어요. 그래서 가면 무도회를 열었습니다. 모든 코알라 곰들은 인디언, 스페인사람, 광대, 프랑스인, 천사, 간호원, 투우사, 사냥꾼, 중국인, 기사, 댄서, 터어키인, 나폴레옹 등으로 분장을 하고 신나게 춤을 추며 놀았습니다. 그러나 파티가 끝나고 모두 변장한 의상을 벗고 나니까 이들은 누가 누구인지 구분을 하지 못하였습니다. 지난 밤에 신나고 즐겁게 놀았던 기억은 사라지고 다시 전에 싸우고 미워했던 모습만 눈에 보였던 것이죠. 그래서 코알라 곰들은 다시 서로 미워하고 말싸움을 하기 시작했어요. 나무 위에 사는 현명한 코알라 곰은 이 들이 사이좋게 지낼 수 있는 방법을 다시 한번 생각했어요....
