Book Description

It covers all the major systems and processes. Children get to look at each system on a different page, then by closing the book, combine them into a whole.

This book will be an attention getter on any shelf if it is displayed with the cover showing. Through the middle of the book, from front to back is a plastic model of the interior of a human body. The book is about an inch thick, and though the pages do not fill the width, the model does. When the front cover is opened, it appears that the light brown tint (the skin) has been peeled away and you can feel parts of the skeleton, skull, rib cage and pelvisional of which are held in place by clips to the double thick pages. The writing on the two first pages is about the dermal system and the skeletal system and is divided into paragraphs of information with headings such as "Gimme some skin!" and "Bone zone." The next two pages cover more about the skeletal system and the clips hold leg and arm bones. As the pages are turned, the digestive system, urinary system, circulatory system, respiratory system, muscular system and nervous system are discussed and body parts peeled away. The idea is good and the production is well done. Young scientists will certainly learn from it.
