[ 책 소개 ]
이 시대 최고의 어린이 그림책 화가중 한 명인 Jerry Pinkney가 가장 널리 알려진 전래동화 중 하나인 "빨간 망토 소녀"의 이야기를 아름다운 수채화로 그렸습니다. 엄마 심부름으로 산너머에 살고 있는 할머니에게 음식을 전해주러 가다가 늑대를 만나게 됩니다. 소녀의 행선지를 알게 된 늑대는 소녀보다 한 발 앞서 할머니집에 가서 할머니를 꿀꺽 삼켜 버린 후, 침대에 누워서 할머니인 척 하다가 빨간 망토 소녀도 꿀꺽 삼켜 버리지요. 하지만 길가던 나뭇꾼이 집 앞에 난 늑대 발자국을 보고는, 집 안으로 들어가서 침대에서 잠자고 있는 늑대를 도끼로 죽이고 뱃 속에 있던 할머니와 소녀를 구해준다는 내용입니다.
