엄마의 배가 점점 부풀어 오르자, 프로기는 새로 태어날 남동생에게 수영도 가르쳐 주고 축구도 가르쳐 줄 생각에 마음이 들뜹니다. 그런데 엄마가 병원에서 데려 온 아기는 남동생이 아니라 여동생이네요. 프로기는 실망했지만 조그맣고 귀여운 여동생 폴리를 잘 돌봐주고 싶어 합니다. 하지만 엄마는 폴리가 너무 어리므로 다리가 다 자라고 꼬리도 없어지면 그때 폴리를 돌보라고 말합니다. 봄과 여름이 다 지나가고 마침내 폴리의 꼬리가 다 없어지자 프로기는 폴리를 연못가로 데리고 나가서 파리를 잡아 먹는 법도 가르쳐주고 기저귀도 갈아 줍니다. 폴리도 착하고 자상한 오빠가 좋은가 봅니다. 큰 소리로 울 때도 오빠 프로기를 찾네요...

Froggy is excited about the upcoming arrival of a new sibling, but is disappointed when the baby turns out to be a sister rather than the brother he had hoped for. The story is appealing though a bit too long. While the repetition of sounds and the parents' calls for "Froggy!" will appeal to children, this adventure is not quite on a par with previous visits, such as Froggy Gets Dressed (1992) and Let's Go, Froggy! (1994, both Viking). However, it is sure to please this lovable character's many fans.
