Book Description
Reinhart's new pop-up series features very simple bright art—young cut-paper collage artwork. Puppies and kittens are perennially popular subjects among young children, both boys and girls, and their parents.
5 spreads will feature pop-ups of adorable puppies, kittens, and other pets at play, at work, and being mischievous. We will mix in some lift-the-flaps for variety as well.

Furry, feathery, or scaly? Read the verses about different types of pets to pick. Enjoy the movement of colorful, pop-up illustrations as they bring unfolding action to each page. For instance, turn the page and a playful kitten pops up and paws at a ball of red yarn with a strand that curls out on the kitten's paw. Open the flap designed like a wooden door and see the bunny wiggle its ears as it appears ready to hop out of its cage. On another page, an energetic puppy seems to nearly spring out right off the page to greet the reader for a game of fetch the ball. Gently pull a tab and see two goldfish frolic in the water of their fishbowl or watch the three hamsters play in their sawdust-filled home. For the finale, the last page opens and shows the variety of different pets presented in the story. The pop-up pets are sure to draw the attention of young children.
