In other words, it is a perfect book to share with toddlers and preschoolers, either one-on-one or with a group at "circle time." In this story, Maisy and her friends work together to pitch a tent, laugh at several mishaps, sing around the campfire, then count how many of them can fit into the tent as they go to bed for the night. Young children will particularly enjoy seeing Eddie, the elephant, try to get into the tent after everyone else, creating a "squeezy squish-squash," that finally sends everyone but Eddie popping back out of the tent. This is a book preschoolers will want to read again and again.
