주인공 꼬마는 과연 자신이 만든 음식을 다른 사람들이 얼마나 좋아할지 알고 싶어서 길거리에서 판매를 하기로 했습니다. 하지만 아무도 꼬마의 음식을 사먹으러 오지 않았습니다. 밤이 되자 크게 실망한 꼬마는 집으로 돌아갔습니다만, 그런데 그때 하늘에서 비행접시를 타고 외계인이 음식을 사먹으러 왔습니다. 첫번째 손님의 방문으로 신이 난 꼬마는 버섯으로 만든 냉차를 만들어 줬는데, 외계인은 이 음식을 정말로 좋아했습니다. 꼬마의 길거리 음식에 대한 소문이 외계인들 사이에서 입소문을 타고 널리 퍼졌으며, 밤마다 다양한 모습을 한 외계인들이 꼬마의 음식을 먹어보려고 줄을 섰습니다.

A young chef has a penchant for whipping up out-of-this-world recipes. His sister is not impressed with an "eggplant, mustard and lemonade smoothie" and admonishes him that "no one in the whole universe" would eat his food. Undeterred, he opens up a snack stand and attracts some late-night patrons. McElligott's ink, pencil, and digital illustrations show an eclectic lineup of aliens, including a doughnut-shaped, duck-footed creature and a wide-mouthed purple being with a toothy grin. They all love the boy's "turnip-side-down cake," "sponge cake with leeks," and "toothpaste soup." While his final dish of the season, "galactic pudding," is met with moans of "YICH!" from extraterrestrials holding their noses, his unsuspecting sister tucks into it with relish. As in McElligott's Even Monsters Need Haircuts (Walker, 2010), the droll, first-person narration is full of witty quips. A tasty treat sure to please.
