엘리자베스를 끈에 묶고 보트로 견인해서 무리들이 모여사는 해변으로 데리고 갔습니다만, 시민들의 예상과는 달리 엘리자베스는 강을 따라 다시 헤엄쳐 와서 자신이 낮잠 자기를 좋아했던 도로 위에 다시 모습을 들러냈습니다. 그리고 이번에는 훨씬 더 멀리 있는 바다코끼리 서식지로 엘리자베스를 보냈습니다만, 이번에도 엘리자베스는 먼 거리를 헤엄쳐서 돌아 왔습니다.
이번에는 엘리자베스가 다시는 도시로 돌아올 수 없도록 수백킬로미터가 떨어진 머나먼 바닷가로 보냈습니다. 그리고 다시는 엘리자베스를 볼 수 없을 걸로 생각했지요. 한달, 두달이 지나고 세달이 되었을 때 불가능하리라고 생각했던 일이 벌어졌습니다. 엘리자베스가 그 먼 거리를 헤엄쳐서 다시 돌아 온 것입니다.
