소년에게 그렇게 원하던 강아지가 생겼어요. 소년은 강아지에게 묘기도 가르치고, 산책도 데리고 나가고, 목욕도 시켜주고, 책도 읽어주고, 함께 꼭 껴안고 잠도 같이 잤어요.
그런데 사실 진짜 강아지가 아니라 강아지는 풍선을 불어서 강아지 모양으로 만든 것이랍니다.

그러다 생일 파티장에 들어갔다가 눈을 가리고 당나귀 그림에 꼬리를 붙이는 "Pin the tail on the donkey" 게임을 하던 아이에게 바늘에 찔려 버리게 되지만, 펑 하고 터진 것은 강아지가 아니라...
