어느날 아침에 숲 속에 사는 곰 제프는 잠자리에서 일어나 아침을 먹고, 일기를 쓰고, 화분에 물을 주고, 목욕을 하고, 털을 빗고... 통상적으로 아침에 하는 루틴을 하나도 빼놓지 않고 다 했습니다. 그런데 기분이 영 찜찜했습니다. 뭔가 잘못 되었는데 그게 뭔지 잘 모르겠는거예요.
집 밖을 나와 숲 속을 걷다가 사슴도 만나고, 개구리, 너구리, 여우, 고슴도치, 새를 만났는데, 모두 제프를 보고는 놀라서 눈이 동그래지기만 할 뿐, 제프에게 무엇인 잘못되었는지는 말해주지 않네요. 아마도 제프가 무안해 할까봐 말을 안해주는 거겠죠. 제프는 절친인 토끼 앤더스에게 찾아가서 무엇이 잘못되었는지 듣고 싶었어요. 앤더스는 처음에는 놀라서 버벅거리다가 진실을 말해줍니다. 그것은 제프가 팬티를 입고 있다는 것!!! 동물들은 보통 온 몸이 털로 덮여 있기 때문에 아무도 팬티를 입지를 않지만, 제프는 할머니가 선물로 보내 준 팬티를 입고 있다가 벗는 것을 깜빡하고 있었던 거예요.
앤더스는 제프를 데리고 집으로 가서 빨리 팬티를 벗자고 합니다만, 집으로 가는 길에 숲에 사는 동물들이 모두 모여 있는 곳을 지나가게 되었어요. 동물들은 팬티를 입은 제프를 보고는 모두 눈이 동그라지게 놀라고, 그런 동물들을 보고는 제프도 눈이 동그라지게 놀랐지요. 그 모습을 보고 있던 앤더스는 집 속으로 재빨리 들어가서 자신도 팬티를 입고 나왔습니다. 그리고는 동물들에게 팬티를 입는 것은 새로운 스타일이라고 말하며, 자신이 보기에는 팬티를 입고 있지 않은 너희들이 이상하게 보인다고 말했습니다.
제프는 자신을 위해 팬티를 입은 앤더스에게 진심으로 고맙다며 평생 이 은혜를 잊지 않겠다고 말했어요. 그런데 잠시 후 숲 속에는 놀라운 일이 벌어졌어요. 제프와 앤더스가 팬티를 입은 모습이 좀 이상하기는 했지만, 한편으로는 멋있게 보였나 봐요. 모든 동물들이 온갖 귀여운 무늬가 그려진 팬티를 입고 있네요.
그리고 제프는 앤더스에게 자신이 건망증이 심하고 좀 정신나간 것처럼 살기는 하지만 너가 진정한 친구라는 것은 절대로 잊지 않겠다고 약속합니다...

Using woodcut prints and digital techniques, Kraan depicts the characters as charming in their puzzlement and hilarious in their underwear. This a wonderful example of illustration adding further to a very funny text. VERDICT Expect hilarity to ensue wherever underwear stories are a hit with the add-on bonus of this being a great title for discussions on the topic of allyship.
