Book Description
Look-and-Learn In The Garden introduces young children to various fruits, vegetables, and plants in the garden. The book contains 24 pages with dazzling art depicting various garden scenes, each one realistically painted with bold, vivid colors. Detailed scenes take readers on a tour of various sections in the garden where tomatoes, pumpkins, beans, peas, apples, oranges, and more are grown. Each spread is designed with a foldout page. When children open the fold, they will uncover illustrations of various elements taken directly from the accompanying scene.
Children's Literature
Young children can explore the vegetable and flower gardens with this "First Discovery Look and Learn" book. Each two-page spread is a full-color illustration of different types of garden such as the gourd family, green leafy vegetables, and legumes. The spreads have a one to two sentence description and then the child can lift the flap for additional illustrations and information on the plants, insects and animals. For example, the fruit and berry page shows a side view of a berry patch and then under the flap the reader can learn about gooseberries, strawberries, and ladybugs. The underground garden shows that some vegetables grow under the earth accompanied by all sorts of worms.
