앤과 앤디 인형을 여행가방에 넣고는 비행기를 타고 할머니를 방문하러 갑니다. 하지만 마르셀라의 여행가방이 너무 커서 객실 대신에 비행기 밑 쪽의 짐칸에 넣게 되자, 앤과 앤디는 어리둥절해 합니다. 앤과 앤디는 비행기 짐칸에서 살고 있는 곰돌이 인형 트레블링베어를 만나게 되고, 처음 타 보는 비행기라서 호기심이 가득했던 래기디 앤과 앤디는 마르셀라의 여행가방에서 살짝 빠져나오면서, 여행은 금세 새로운 모험으로 바뀌어요.
그런데 비행기가 착륙하기 전에, 과연 래기디 앤과 앤디는 다시 가방 안으로 무사히 돌아갈 수 있을까요?

Billed as a 'Ready-to-Read Book', it is one in a series of "Raggedy Ann and Andy" level books designed for beginning readers. This one is Level 1, Starting to Read, featuring "simple stories, increased vocabulary and longer sentences," as compared to Prelevel 1. Raggedy Ann and Andy belong to Marcella, a young girl on her way to visit her Grandmother. This is Raggedy Ann and Andy's first plane trip and although stored in the baggage compartment, they succeed in having an adventure of their own. They meet a friend called Travelin' Bear who urges them to stay on with him for some great adventures. They both agree they would miss Marcella too much. They finally arrive at their destination and wave goodbye to their new friend. This is a very simple story, with the motivator being Raggedy Ann and Andy. Level books are the "new" strategy for assisting readers that may be having difficulty decoding words. The spacing of words and sentences in this book is a bit strange, but maybe that is part of the strategy. Usually, level readers include a list of new vocabulary to alert parents and teachers of possible difficulties or words that may need some introduction. It would have been helpful if new vocabulary and some tips for assisting beginning readers were included. Otherwise, the illustrations are fetching and take up enough space so that new readers do not become overwhelmed with text. It is nice to see Raggedy Ann and Andy on the scene again after a long absence.
