[ 책 소개 ]
VeggieTales 시리즈는 미국 NBC에서 에니메이션 시리즈로 방영된 후 넷플릭스에서도 업로드되었고, 만화영화로도 2편이 상영된 인기 에니메이션입니다. 국내에서는 베지테일스라는 제목으로 DVD가 출시되어 있습니다.
베지테일스 시리즈는 의인화된 오이와 토마토, 아스파라거스 등 각종 야채들이 주인공으로 나와서 어린 아이들에게 교훈을 줄 수 있는 유익한 내용들을 담고 있습니다.
오이 형사와 순무 형사가 경찰차를 타고 순찰을 돌고 있는데, 아스파라거스 엄마로부터 전화가 걸려 왔습니다. 아들 아스파라거스인 주니어의 방이 난장판이 되어 있다고 하네요. 현장으로 출동한 두 형사는 주니어에게 무슨 일이 벌어졌는지 묻습니다만, 주니어는 자기가 한 일이 아니라고만 합니다.
두 형사가 엄마 아스파라거스로부터 두번째 신고 전화를 받고 출동했을 때는 식탁 주변에 우유가 쏟아져서 바닥이 온통 엉망이 되어 있었습니다. 이번에는 주니어가 악당 3명이 집 안으로 들어와서 우유를 쏟는 것을 봤다고 얘기합니다만, 주니어의 진술에 헛점이 있었습니다. 아빠는 주니어가 거짓말을 하고 있다는 것을 눈치채고는 주니어에게 사실을 얘기하도록 설들을 하게 되고...
어린 아이들에게 "정직함"의 중요성을 알려주는 내용입니다.
