Dr. Seuss가 1957에 The Cat in the Hat으로 랜덤하우스 출판사의 Beginner Books 시리즈 첫발을 내디딘 후, 이 시리즈를 통해 미국 어린이들의 독서생활을 주도해 온 작가 중 한명이 바로 이 책의 저자인 P.D. Eastman입니다. P.D.
