- 할아버지에게 쿠키와 아이스크림을 먹이면 매우 좋아한다.(사실은 아이 자신도 같이 먹고 싶다.)
- 할아버지와 외출할 때는 차가 오는지 길 양쪽을 잘 살펴야 한다고 알려준다.
- 길을 걷다가 도마뱀이 나오는지 잘 살펴보라고 알려준다.
- 할아버지 앞에서 물구나무 서기를 하거나 연극을 하면 박수를 치면서 좋아한다.
- 낮잠시간에 할아버지를 재우는 방법은 긴 스토리북을 반복해서 읽게 하면 할아버지는 책을 읽다가 잠이 든다.
- 할아버지 자는 동안 그림을 그렸다가 헤어질 때 선물로 주면 좋아한다.
- 장난감을 정리할 때는 신나는 음악을 틀어주면 좋아한다.
- 엄마 아빠가 외출에서 돌아와서 할아버지와 헤어질 때는 껴안고 뽀뽀하기를 3번 연속해서 해준 후에 다음에도 또 할아버지를 돌봐줘도 되냐고 물어보면 할아버지는 매우매우 좋아한다...
사랑스러운 손주네요. 할아버지가 손주를 돌보는 것이 아니라, 손주가 할아버지를 돌본다는 역발상이 매우 재미있습니다. 책을 읽어보면 유머와 사랑스러움이 가득해서 왜 이 책이 뉴욕타임즈 베스트셀러가 되었는지 이해하게 됩니다.
