가족들이 모두 외출을 하고 집 안에 아무도 없게 되자, 고양이 헥터는 햄스터들을 겁을 줍니다. 햄스터들은 고양이에게 재미있는 스턴트 묘기를 보여주겠다고 제안합니다. 고양이가 승락을 하자 햄스터들은 분도기를 이용해서 자동차 점프대를 만든 후, 장난감 자동차를 타고 점프대로 몰고 가서 하늘로 날아 오릅니다. 처음에는 35도 각도로 점프대를 만들어서 날아 올랐습니다만, 헥터는 기대에 미치지 못한다고 트집을 잡는 바람에 다음에는 45도, 또 그 다음에는 60도로 점점 점프대의 각도를 높여서 날아 올랐지요. 그래도 헥터는 더 각도를 높일 것을 요구하자, 90도를 지나서 180도로 점프대를 만들었지요. 하지만 180도는 평평한 각도여서 햄스터들은 재빨리 차를 몰고 점프대를 지나 도망을 가고...
이 책에서는 기하학의 가장 기본적인 개념인 각도에 대해 배울 수 있습니다.

The engaging hamster champs, Pipsqueak, Chuckles, and Moe, trick Hector the Cat into letting them play outside the cage. Coaxing a promise from Hector not to attack if their stunts are good enough, they suit up in goggles and helmets to play with race cars, inclined ramps, and protractors. They get to zoom up and down while he watches, bored to yawns. When he is ready to attack, they use their knowledge of protractors to trick Hector one more time, and escape back to their cage. This amusing story in the "MathStart" series conveys the information about how to measure angles and use a protractor and indicates some ideas about velocity as well for the perceptive reader. Back matter includes teaching and sharing ideas for adult and children reading the book together.
